Any cattle farmer knows that baby calves can be born when they shouldn’t be. If a new member of your herd gets a chill in winter, chances are slim they’ll recover. What about tractors gelling up? Ever been stuck in a field, or not able to feed livestock? How about hydrants freezing? Need to water your animals? Consider our products “working insurance” to keep you on the job, your animals happy and healthy, and everyone earning for your family.

VAL6 – Daystar
If it’s work you have to get to fast, the Daystar is the best tag-a-long you can find. Just throw it in the truck and go!
Recommended Uses
Have you got a tractor shop? Doing some work to get your summertime equipment up to snuff to make sure it’s ready to go when you are? Maybe the power went out on the farm and, all of a sudden, you’re running out of heat in the house. Because the Daystar is so portable and versatile, you won’t go anywhere on the farm without it, once you get it. Or, at least, you shouldn’t!
Features
With a dry weight of only 40 pounds, an easy-carry handle, and the fact that you can run it off your cigarette lighter in your vehicle (with the option inverter), the Daystar is far and away our most portable model. The dual-heating (radiant + convection) system means you get the advanced VAL6 radiant technology, as well as hot air flow. Like all members of the VAL6 series, the Daystar burns kerosene, #1 and #2 diesel, and bio-diesel (up to 20%). The master design of the heater means super-high efficiency, and a 100% recovery of heat from the fuel burnt. Due to the high efficiency, there’s also no burning eyes, headaches, smell, or carbon monoxide to worry about. Finally, with a 2.6 gallon tank, and a 0.4 gal/hr intake, the Daystar can run without refueling for 6.5 hours.

VAL6 – KBE5S
If your farm or needs the clean-burning, powerful heat of the VAL6, and you don’t mind taking a knock on the features, the KBE5S will keep you, your crew, and your equipment warm for less investment than the KBE5L or the EPX.
Recommended Uses
The KBE5S, KBE5L and EPX are all going to be used in similar ways. The questions you need to answer, however, are: (1) How many features do I want? (2) What size do I need? The KBE5S has the lowest heating capacity of the three, however, it still packs a punch. If you’ve got a calf that’s froze up, pop it in front of the KBE5S to warm its core and get it back with its mama in a hurry.
Features
One of the most loved features of the VAL6 series is the inherent portability. Through the use of a power inverter, you can even run the heater from your vehicle! As with every VAL6, the KBE5S burns kerosene, #1 and #2 diesel, and bio-diesel (up to 20%). Another stand out feature is the incredibly high efficiency rating. Our VAL6 heaters are so efficient, they claim 100% heat recovery from fuel burnt. Second to this, there’s no smell, headaches, burning eyes, or carbon monoxide to fuss about. Because the KBE5S is purely radiant heat, you can be warm and comfortable without dust blowing around. So, too, radiant heat isn’t effected by the elements – so work outside whenever you need to! Taking in 0.85 gallons of fuel an hour from a 9 gallon tank means the KBE5S can run non-stop for 10.5 hours.

VAL6 – KBE5L
If you’re the kind who wants big, clean-burning heat in a hurry, and you want the additionally functionality of a high/low switch, fuel pre-heater, extra-large fuel tank, and enhanced fuel efficiency exhaust visor, the KBE5L is where you can get it.
Recommended Uses
If you need more heat than the Daystar can give, you’ll be looking at the KBE5S, KBE5L or EPX. The KBE5L has the second highest heating capacity, as well as some nifty gadgets the KBE5S doesn’t have. (See Features section.) Do you have some pipes frozen, or a tractor stuck in the field with gelled fuel? Got a calf froze up that you’re going to lose if you don’t warm it up in a hurry? The KBE5L, being our most popular model, has you covered.
Features
Just because it’s our second biggest VAL6, doesn’t mean it still can’t make it around the farm. A quick lift into the pickup and our power inverter means it can go where you go. All of our VAL6 heaters burn kerosene, #1 and #2 diesel, and bio-diesel (up to 20%). Because our VAL6 heaters are perfectly designed, they boast a 100% recovery of heat from fuel burnt. Subsequent to the high efficiency rating, there’s no smell, burning eyes, headaches, nausea, or carbon monoxide to stress about. Like the KBE5S and EPX, the KBE5L is purely radiant heat, meaning it’s not blowing dust around, and the stream of heat isn’t interrupted by Mother Nature. Like the EPX, the KBE5L has the added features of a fuel-reclamation exhaust visor, a high/low switch for added control, a fuel pre-heater to increase quality of combustion, and an extra-large, 15 gallon tank. Burning 0.75 gallons of fuel an hour on low, and 0.9 gallons of fuel an hour on high, the KBE5L can run non-stop for 20 hours, and 16.5 hours, respectively.

VAL6 – EPX
Got an extra-large farm or ranch? How about an extra-large job? Do you just like things extra-large? Get the added functions of the KBE5L in an extra-large package: The EPX.
Recommended Uses
If you need bigger heat than the Daystar, KBE5S or KBE5L can afford, look no further than the EPX, our most technologically advanced VAL6 to date. Warm that froze up calf in a hurry. Get that gelled fuel moving through your lines to get back to work. Keep your livestock-working facility toasty for your crew, and keep the farm or ranch going through the winter.
Features
If you’ve got a tractor gelled up in the field, the EPX is the perfect heater to strap to the back of the pickup and run off our power inverter to get the fuel going again. Just like all heaters in the VAL6 series, the EPX cleanly burns kerosene, #1 and #2 diesel, and bio-diesel (up to 20%). The quality design of the EPX means a 100% recovery of heat from the fuel you burn, and the resultant high efficiency means no smell, burning eyes, headaches, nausea or carbon monoxide to worry about. Like the KBE5S and KBE5L, the EPX is a purely radiant heater, meaning there won’t be any dust blowing around, and wind, rain, snow and sleet won’t effect the heat stream getting where you want it to. Being our most technologically advanced VAL6 to date, the EPX boasts a fuel-reclamation exhaust visor, a high/low switch for control of heat output, both an internal thermostat and external thermostat port, an advanced monitoring system for ease-of-use and troubleshooting, and an extra-large, 15.4 gallon fuel tank. As the EPX burns 0.75 gallons of fuel per hour on low, and 1.02 gallons on high, it can run continuously for 20.5 hours, and 15 hours, respectively.

WPS-30
If you’re the kind who has invested in an insulated building of any kind for your farm or ranch, depending on the size, the VAL6 series might just heat it up too quick and powerful. In that case, consider the WPS-30, which is a little more subtle and deep penetrating.
Recommended Uses
If you’ve got a basement in the farmhouse where the pipes are prone to freezing, the WPS-30 is a great, subtle yet deep-penetrating heat that will keep the water flowing. Did some heavy snow or a storm disrupt the power to the house? Being electric, the WPS-30 is the safest of our heaters to run indoors, and won’t overheat you.
Features
The farther-traveling, deeper-penetrating far-infrared heat of the WPS-30 is the standout feature. It’s a different beast entirely to the VAL6 series of infrared heaters. The 19.8″ wide heat panel is curved, and can tilt vertically 20°, which gives the operator more control over the direction of heat. The WPS-30 has a safe-surface temperature of 570°F, compared to approximately 1,380°F of normal electric, radiant heaters. The surface is also protected with a thick-wire, heat-resisting guard. With the silent operation, if it weren’t so warm and comfortable, you wouldn’t even know the heater was even on!

Hotgun – 125NA
The VAL6 and WPS series are great, because, being radiant heaters, they warm you, your tools and your tractors up without needing to warm up the air. However, if it’s hot air you’re after, the Hotgun gives it in bucket loads.
Recommended Uses
Some folks are just a little more comfortable with the traditional hot air method (Hotgun) than the revolutionary, radiant heating method (VAL6 & WPS). If you’re one of those who wants warm air circulating around your hog facility without the smoke, smell, burning eyes and headaches of a typical “salamander” or “torpedo” heater, the Hotgun is head and shoulders above the “competition.”
Features
Getting a diesel-burning, forced-air heater’s carbon monoxide emissions, smell, and noise down to a comfortable and safe level is no easy task, but it’s officially been done with the Hotgun 125NA. Because of it’s pinpoint-accuracy design, the Hotgun is able to convert nearly 100% of the fuel burnt into thermal energy. With a huge, 14.3 gallon tank, it can continue running for 15 hours straight.

RKF-403
There’s nothing like taking a break from the farm on a hot, summer day. But, how often does that happen? When you’ve got to keep working to get the job done, consider the RKF series of portable, evaporative coolers. You’ll never be without one in summer, again.
Recommended Uses
The beauty of farms and ranches is that, most often, you’re working in a fairly open-plan environment, which is where the RKF portable, evaporative coolers thrive. On those sweltering days, you have the option of grabbing a RKF-403 or RKF-503 to keep you cool. When the tin roof of your cattle working facility starts radiating the sun’s heat down on you and your crew, the last thing you want to be doing is wrangling a hot, sweaty, 800 pound animal. Cool down with an RKF.
Features
One of the main problems with evaporative, or “swamp” coolers, is that the fan needs to dry out the cool pads after each use. The problem comes in when you shut the water off to the pump to allow that to happen. When the water isn’t flowing, then you’re just blowing hot air around. Throw in the times when an employee forgets to turn the pump off 20-30 minutes before leaving, and you’ll end up blowing moldy-smelling air around in no time. The RKF’s fan auto shut-off feature solves the problem. Simply press the button at the end of the day, and lock up. The pump will shut off, and the fan will dry the pads for approximately 30 minutes before turning the machine off. Done! Aside from size, the features of the RKF-403 and RKF-503 are the same. See RKF-503 Features for more!

RKF-503
Having around double the cooling capacity if the RKF-403 has its advantages when the temp gets good n’ high. Cool yourself and your crew down with the bigger, RKF-503, portable, evaporative cooler.
Recommended Uses
When it comes to keeping cool around the farm or ranch, the RKF series of portable, evaporative coolers is definitely the way to go. Easily portable, so you can get the chores done without sweating like the animals you’re working with. The RKF-503 is the big brother to the RKF-403, producing around double the cooling capacity. If you’ve got a large operation with several crew members, the 503 is the way to go.
Features
While the RKFs both have the groundbreaking fan auto shut-off feature (see RKF-403 Features for details), the also have the pump auto shut-off feature; meaning if you run out of water, the pump shuts off so that it doesn’t burn up. There is also the removable, cool pad screen protector which keeps dirt, grime, bugs, and whatever else from getting in. When it’s time to clean, slip out the flexible screen to clean it, instead of the delicate pads. Then, there’s the removable water tank, which is also a snap to clean. Both coolers have oscillating horizontal louvers, with an 80° range of motion, as well as three, manual, vertical louvers. Throw in the fact that the 403 runs on a max of 290 watts of power, and the 503 runs on a max of 520 watts, and you’ve got a premium cooler on your farm.
