VAL6 Radiant Heaters

When the VAL6 hit the Japanese and European markets, it revolutionized the portable space heating industry. Expertly and scientifically designed, the VAL6 burns diesel fuel with an amazing 98.9% efficiency rating. The carbon monoxide output is only 1-2ppm, 10-20 times less than convection “torpedo” or “salamander” heaters. There are a couple copycats out there, but none come close to the original: VAL6.

Daystar

When it comes to the Daystar, literally, it’s not the size, but how you use it.

The Rundown

The Daystar is really the perfect balance between size and strength. When it comes down to it, having a powerful, diesel-fired, radiant and forced-air heater that you can pick up and move virtually anywhere is a handy thing to have around.

KBE5S

Little brother to the KBE5L, the KBE5S was designed specifically for the United States market.

The Rundown

Packing nearly the same amount of heat, the KBE5S is more compact, with a smaller fuel tank, and no exhaust visor. Additionally, when the KBE5L received an upgrade with a high/low switch and fuel pre-heater, the KBE5S did not. This created a larger performance gap between the two, and the KBE5S became our Economy version and the KBE5L became our Premium version. In the end, however, if you need good, quality heat, the KBE5S won’t let you down.

KBE5L

Easily, the most popular VAL6 model worldwide. The KBE5L is a true workhorse that keeps getting better.

The Rundown

Recently, the manufacturer added a high/low switch for when less heat is enough, and you want to save a bit of fuel. They also added a fuel pre-heater, creating a more perfect, clean combustion. If you don’t know which VAL6 to get, the KBE5L is a good starting point.

EPX

The Blazing Sun of the VAL6 line, the EPX is our largest and most advanced heater in the series to date.

The Rundown

Boasting a 20% larger radiation disk than the KBE5S or KBE5L, the EPX is able to use less fuel for the same amount of heat, due to the larger surface area. Already fitted with all of the fixings the KBE5L received when it was upgraded: high/low switch, fuel pre-heater, 15 gallon fuel tank, exhaust visor – not to mention an internal thermostat with connections for an external thermostat. The EPX combines power, efficiency, economy and safety, and is the way of the future for the VAL6 series.
